How can I change or remove my kid's limit for today only?

Sometimes there are special circumstances where you want kids to freely use their devices for the day, like vacations, sleepovers, or when they're home sick. Here's how you do that.

How do I remove or ignore time limits for today?

  1. Open the Screenable parent app to the Home tab.
  2. On your kid's tile, tap "Change ➜".
  3. Select "No limit until tomorrow".

Within 5 minutes (assuming your kid's device has internet connection), all apps on your kid's device will show as available for use. This applies to app-specific limits as well. Kids will not see any warnings or limit reminders for the day, and you will not receive any notifications. This will reset overnight.

(Note that if later in the day, you change today's limit back to its original value, kids will start accruing time again at that moment, as though they'd been off the clock since the time of their last screen time reminder.)

How do I block them from using their device for the rest of today?

This is sometimes called "pause the internet," "lock down," or a "kill switch."

  1. Open the Screenable parent app to the Home tab.
  2. On your kid's tile, tap "Change ➜".
  3. Select "Block until tomorrow".

This effectively both a) sets their screen time limit to 0 min (for today only) and b) disallows Overtime until tomorrow. Within 5 minutes (assuming your kid's device has internet connection), all apps will become unavailable for use – except those with no time limit, which will remain available. This will reset overnight.
