How do I delete my account & data?

These are instructions for permanently deleting your Screenable account and ending the Screenable service on all your kids' devices. If that's not what you want, see other removal options such as temporarily pausing Screenable or removing Screenable from a single device.

How do I delete my account?

To delete your entire account and all its data:

  1. Go to the Account tab in the app.
  2. Tap Delete Account.

What happens when I delete my account?

Within 5 minutes, this will stop the Screenable service all on your kids' devices. You can optionally delete the Screenable Kid app from each device as well, though this is typically unnecessary as it will stop working anyway within a few minutes.

This will also delete all data that has been collected from all the devices in your family account, including:

  • All kid profiles (e.g. their names and birth month/years)
  • All device details and screen usage data

Please note that this is unrecoverable as we will no longer store this data anywhere on our servers.

How can I reinstate Apple Screen Time?

After deleting your account, if you'd like to revert to using Apple Screen Time, it's very straightforward.

  1. Open the Settings app on your (i.e. the parent's) iPhone or iPad.
  2. Tap on Family > Choose your kid > Screen Time.
  3. If Screen Time is not already active, it will guide you through a quick setup flow.
  4. Adjust any settings you wish. We typically recommend:
    • Set a passcode that your kid doesn't know.
    • Use Downtime to schedule a bedtime.
    • Use App Limits to create a daily screen time limit.
    • Use Always Allowed to allow apps with no screen time limit.
    • Use Communication Limits to manage who your kid can talk/text with.
    • Turn on Content & Privacy Restrictions, and make sure you've looked at all the settings
      • There's a lot in here! At very least make sure App Store, Media, Web, & Games > Web Content is blocking adult websites.
