How can I control Screenable notifications?
A core part of the Screenable experience is receiving real-time ("push") notifications on your mobile phone to get updates about how your kid is using their screen time. Additionally, kids can receive Screenable notifications on their device, to both receive their weekly report as well as know when their screen time settings have changed.
In both cases, notifications will need to be turned on within the Screenable app as well as in your phone's operating system (iOS or iPadOS). Here's how you do that.
How do I turn on notifications in the parent app?
- Open the Screenable parent app.
- Go to Account tab > Notification settings and turn ON the toggle to receive notifications.
- If asked by the phone, make sure to Allow notifications in the OS.
How do I turn on notifications in the Screenable kid app
During setup, when connecting a kid's device to your account, you'll be asked to turn on notifications. Apart from that, you'll have to turn them on at the OS-level – read below for how to do that.
How do I turn on notifications on iOS/iPadOS?
If you accidentally turn off notifications in the OS and need to turn them back on, follow these instructions:
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap Notifications.
- Tap Screenable.
- Toggle Allow Notifications to ON and make sure all alert styles are checked.
- You might also scroll down and make sure Show Previews is set to Always, since these won't be sensitive notifications and it's more convenient to see them immediately on your phone.

How do I turn OFF notifications?
The easiest way to turn off app notifications is through the Screenable app. Just follow the directions at top and turn notifications to OFF instead of ON. Alternatively you can turn them off at the OS-level, in which case follow the instructions above for your phone and then just turn them OFF instead of ON.
