How do I scan a QR code? Instead, can I do it manually?
When you're connecting a kid's device, you'll be asked to scan a QR code shown in the parent's Screenable app. There are 2 separate QR codes: 1) the first one downloads the Screenable kid app onto your kid's device, and 2) the second one connects your kid's device to your kid's Screenable profile.
How do I scan a QR code?
- In the Screenable app on your (the parent's) device, start the process of adding a new kid's device until you see a QR code.
- Use the camera app on your kid's device to scan the QR code.
- If you've never done that, you just point the camera at the QR code until a little button hovers on the camera. Tap that button to open the link.
How do I manually download the kid app instead?
You can avoid scanning the first QR code as follows:
- On your kid's device, go to the App Store.
- Search for Screenable and download "Screenable Kid (companion app)".
How do I manually connect my kid's device instead?
You can avoid scanning the second QR code as follows:
- In the Screenable app on your (the parent's) device, start the process of adding a new kid's device until you see the QR code.
- Instead of scanning the QR code, tap "enter it manually." Note the code that you see.
- Make sure you've downloaded the kid app onto your kid's device, using the instructions above.
- Open the kid app and enter the code from step 2.
