What devices are supported? Apple or Android?
Here is a quick rundown of Screenable's device compatibility for both parents and kids. Please also see our recommendation for kids' device setups.
Apple support
Screenable currently only works for Apple mobile devices. Specifically:
- The Screenable app works on iPhones & iPads. (Parents and kids will each download the same app from the App Store, though they'll have different experiences.)
- Screenable is built on the Apple Screen Time API, and without most of its bugginess (yay 🙂). You can even continue to use parts of Apple Screen Time with Screenable.
Android and PC support
Screenable is not currently compatible with Androids or PCs. If you or your kids are Android users (or other platforms) and interested in using the app, please contact us to get on the waitlist. We'd love to hear about your specific needs.
What device models are supported? Do I need to upgrade my OS?
For the Screenable app to work, parents and kids must have:
- ✅ iPhones with at least iOS 15 installed:
- iPhone 6S (2015) and later
- iPhone SE (all models)
- ✅ iPads with at least iPadOS 15 installed:
- iPad 5th gen (2017) and later
- iPad Mini 4th gen (2015) and later
- iPad Air 2nd gen (2014) and later
- iPad Pro (all models)
If you or your kid's device is in the list but not able to download the app from the App Store, you may need to upgrade your device's operating system. Just go to Settings > General > Software Update on the device in question. Contact us for help.
