Why do I need to grant Local Network access?
Screenable uses Local Network access to set up and manage certain features directly from the parent app, communicating device-to-device with the kid device.
What is Local Network access?
Local Network access allows two Apple devices to talk directly to each other, rather than having to go through the internet (read more in Apple's article on it). This is a fast and reliable way to configure certain Screenable features (such as the app-picker workaround), so it's best to turn it on for the Screenable app on both parent and kid devices.
To enable or disable Local Network access
- Open the Settings app, then scroll down and tap Screenable.
- Turn Local Network on or off.
- If it's not shown, that means it hasn't been requested yet. You'll need to first use a feature that requires it.
