Does the Beta program cost money?

Nope. As long as you're a member of our Beta program, you get to use Screenable for free forever. That's for two reasons:

  1. It's harder to set up your account and devices in the Beta program, since you have to use the TestFlight app to do so.
  2. We periodically ask for your feedback through user surveys and/or interviews.

How do I make sure I'm not charged?

You need to do two things to make sure you're in our Beta program:

  1. Request to join at beta@getscreenable.com, and confirm your account is registered.
  2. Use TestFlight to get the app, instead of the App Store.

If your email address is registered with our Beta program, then your account will have full permissions even if it does not show a subscription level or warns you that you need to subscribe – both of which you can ignore. (Reach out to beta@getscreenable.com if you're not sure.) So, you don't ever need to go through a payment flow.

Then, make sure to get the parent app through TestFlight, which is Apple's app for managing Beta programs, instead of directly from the App Store. If you have the TestFlight version of the app, it literally cannot charge you anything – Apple prevents it – so even if it looks like it will charge your App Store account, it will actually just be a test of charging it, and the price will be $0.00.

Should I cancel my existing trial or subscription?

If you are in our Beta program, yes, please make sure you are not in an active trial or subscription through the App Store. Double-check like so:

  1. On your own phone, open the App Store app.
  2. Tap your avatar in the upper-right corner, then Subscriptions.
  3. If you see Screenable under the Active section, tap it and make sure to cancel it. (If it shows red text with "Expiring on X date" or "You've canceled your subscription", you're good to go.)

What if I was accidentally charged?

No problem – just reach out to help@getscreenable.com and we'll figure out how to reimburse you. Then make sure to follow the steps above so it doesn't happen again in the future.
