How do I remove Screenable from a kid's device?

These are instructions for permanently removing the Screenable service from a single kid's device. If that's not what you want, see other removal options such as temporarily pausing Screenable or deleting your account entirely.

To remove Screenable entirely from a kid's device

This will remove the kid's device from your family account and stop all screen time management and content filtering on it.

  1. In the Screenable parent app, go to the Home tab and tap on your kid.
  2. Scroll down and tap Remove device.
    • If you don't see it, it may be in a sub-menu called Mode & device settings – tap that first.
  3. Confirm that you want to remove it.

Within 5 minutes, Screenable will completely stop working on your kid's device – meaning no apps or content will be blocked, and no usage will be tracked. If you'd like this to happen even faster, you can delete the Screenable Kid app directly from your kid's device. (This step is typically unnecessary since it will shortly stop working anyway.)

What happens when I remove a device?

Removing a device from the home will stop managing it, meaning parents will not be able to see or get notified about any of its screen time usage, and kids will no longer see screen time reminders, warnings, and blocks. (Note that it can take up to 5 minutes to take effect.)

This does not delete any usage data, as that is associated with the kid's profile. To delete that, either remove the kid or delete your account.

If you want to add the device back to the family account, you will need to go through the full device setup flow again. It will not recover any of its previous data, as that has been permanently deleted.
